Normal blankets are often filled with down or feathers. Our weighted blankets are filled with micro glass granules to make them heavier. The granules are very small and you cannot feel them. Our Gravity weighted blankets are hypoallergenic and can therefore also be used by people with allergies. No, weighted blankets are safe. Babies and children under 5 years old or under 20 kg should always use the weighted blanket under supervision. When children use the blanket alone, it should always be easy for them to remove the blanket.
Patients with advanced type 2 diabetes should not use a weighted blanket because the blood circulation is weakened. Under no circumstances should a weighted blanket be used on patients with a so-called diabetic foot.
Persons with kidney problems (particularly patients on dialysis) should check with their doctor whether a weighted blanket is allowed for them.
